Texas Bluebonnet Award Program
Crockett Elementary is participating in the Texas Bluebonnet Award Program for the 2014-2015 school year. Students in 3rd through 5th grade earn the privilege of voting for their favorite book from a list of 20 books nominated for the Texas Bluebonnet book of the year by reading at least five of the 20 nominated books by Bluebonnet Voting Day, Jan. 25, 2015. The book receiving the most votes from all 3rd through 6th grade students in the state of Texas is named the Texas Bluebonnet Award winner.
Students can get credit for reading a book by reading it themselves, having a teacher read the book aloud to them, having a parent read a book aloud to them, or listening to the book in audio format (audio CD or audio cassette of the book).
The bluebonnet book nominees are also available at El Paso Public Libraries.
